American studios decreasing control.

In my opinion, is it a good or bad thing that digital film-making has the potential to lessen the control that American film studios have over the film industry- do I think this will happen?

For as long as I can remember all I would see is the denomination of American films that was all I could see and that was all I could watch, from Disney’s ‘Lion king’ when I was a child to the ‘Spiderman chronicles’ today in my late teens. This is a bad thing as film was used to show different cultures and people where very interested in seeing how the other side live now the film industry is as we can say Americanised, all films show the American way of life and it is very interesting that in sci-fi or action films America (American government) saves the world to us we know that the story is fictional but in other places where it is more isolated so to speak will actually believe that America has this great power if they are constantly seeing this on their TV screens.
But things have changed, before America could afford these big budget busting films with all the latest technology and that was all we would see on the big screen but now digital film making has taken over making it far more easier to use so that any can create a film and distribute it worldwide thanks to the improved internet. With the introduction of digital film making everyone has a chance to air their own innovation which is a plus as brings back the cultural identity which was very close to being lost. Not only that but it gives inspiring film makers and independent production companies get to show off their own skills at a low cost we are no longer relying on American film studios to create a good film, with the use of modernised technology it is easier to travel to around to get great scene shot rather than using an American studio which as mentioned before lessen the control that America has over film-making.
Finally as mentioned the internet has increase the influences of film-making as it is extraordinary great resource for film- distribution thanks to the help of you tube and social networks such as ‘Facebook’ and ‘Myspace’ this way small production companies would not have to relate on bigger American companies to distribute their film and taking their profits. So do believe that it is a good thing that American film studio has the potential to lose their control due to digital film-making.
